Is it possible to send me the Maria’s “Ferratelle” recipe. I have the “lu ferro” the iron but I don’t have the recipe.

Hi Angela, it sure is. Pls give me sometime as Maria’s, when I ask her about recipes, she alwasy goes: “I do not weigh things, just feel what is right”. She is 88 and a great cook. OK Here is what Maria says. For the dough every 1 egg put 1 table spoon of sugar and one table spoon of melted lard (or melted butter). Use as much flour as needed to make a dough soft and elastic. For the filling (caramellized honey and wholenuts/hazelnuts) she says quantities really depend on how much filling you want to put in each ferratella. So she suggests you start with 4 spoons of honey and melt it in a pan with finely chopped nuts. It needs to be full of chopped nuts not just a few and needs to boil and caramellize otherwise it does not stick the two ferratelle together. Hope this helps! Stay with us!
